In order to promote the exchange of cooling and energy-saving technologies in data centers, the "Fourth National Data Center Cooling and Energy Conservation and New Technology Application Development Summit Forum" jointly organized by China Academy of Building Sciences Co., Ltd., China Mobile Communications Group Design Institute Co., Ltd., HVAC Industry Technology Innovation Alliance, and China Telecom Consulting and Design Institute Co., Ltd. is scheduled to be held in Beijing from May 9 to 11, 2021.

Danfoss, as a global leader in the fields of electrification, digitization, and intelligent manufacturing, sponsored and attended this summit forum. Ms. Zhang Leping, Senior Manager of System Technology at Danfoss Climate Solutions Division, presented a report on "Efficient Data Center Energy Conservation Plan" to the conference forum.

In response to the exponential growth in energy consumption in data centers, Danfoss is promoting green digital center solutions globally with its own products and technologies. Through a comprehensive energy utilization plan from data center cooling to waste heat recovery, Danfoss is designing and building a climate friendly green data center. Danfoss hopes that this model will become an industry model to achieve decarbonization development in various regions.

1、 Utilizing "green electricity" to achieve intelligent comprehensive distribution

The Danfoss Intelligent Integrated Distribution System can achieve reliable power conversion between renewable energy green power and DC power grids, and through its energy storage function, reserve excess clean energy, enabling the power grid to continue operating at relatively low average power requirements. At the same time, it provides intelligent and reliable high-quality power supply and backup power protection for the data center, solving the high loss of multi-level energy changes in traditional AC power supply systems The problem of poor flexibility in power transformation, while effectively reducing PUE in the data center.

2、 Innovative magnetic levitation technology helps improve cooling efficiency and achieve full system optimization through intelligent transmission and distribution end balance

From using magnetic levitation oil-free fully configured chillers in data centers to optimizing fluid network transmission and distribution, to end balance, precision air conditioning, air handling units, fan and water pump variable speed control, Danfoss provides a wide range of efficient and green data center cooling innovative solutions, creating an ideal thermal environment for servers while reducing data center PUE and minimizing carbon dioxide emissions.

From 2020 to 2021, the China Refrigeration Society collaborated with data center industry leaders such as Danfoss, Tencent Shanghai, China Telecom, China Railway Information University, Beijing Zhongke Cloud, Qingdao Haier, Clement, and Nanjing Jialitu to create the "White Book of Maglev Compressors and Refrigeration Units for Data Centers". This white paper analyzes how magnetic levitation technology meets the latest requirements for data center construction and operation by explaining the principles and performance of magnetic levitation technology, as well as the needs and trends of data centers. It also tracks and records the actual data of five data center cases using magnetic levitation technology, analyzes and summarizes the hotspots and advantages of magnetic levitation solutions, and provides guidance for future construction targeting different regions The green and energy-saving data center for climate conditions and application conditions provides technical reference.

3、 The transformation from "energy consumers" to "energy producers"

Heat recovery is the core technology direction for achieving zero carbon goals. Danfoss has deeply participated in the development and innovation of heat pump heat recovery technology in the European green process, including low-temperature regional heating technology and magnetic levitation oil-free heat pump heat recovery technology, providing reliable and innovative solutions for waste heat recovery and energy comprehensive utilization in data centers. Provide a reliable path for carbon neutrality and carbon reduction for data centers from the perspective of operational process control.

At present, Danfoss is actively promoting digital transformation. Based on Danfoss's green data center related technology, Danfoss Group has successfully completed global integration and adjustment of 20 data centers and 135 server rooms around the world.

Danfoss actively took action and efficiently built its own green data center in less than a year. Danfoss believes that digital transformation and green transformation can be achieved simultaneously.
